【English version】”School Closure”

Our school and school grounds have been closed for the purpose of preventing the spread of new coronavirus infection. Most students have not been able to come to school for about two months although some were able to so that they could attend either their junior high or their high school graduation ceremony. In the meantime, they can’t study at school, they can’t meet their friends, and they can’t enjoy club activities. The stress the students must be under is beyond imagination and, in particular, the anxiety of new students who have joined the junior high school and high school will be growing day by day.

However, what we must do now is “endure” this situation. We should refrain from going out, get moderate exercise in our homes, and get enough nutrition and sleep, all the time while dreaming of the day when school will resume. It is absolutely necessary to prevent the further spread of this infection while building our immune systems up. I think everyone knows this, but it’s also a great opportunity to tackle new things during this time and to deepen your strengths. Recently, a whole range of new and interesting activities have been introduced on TV to those homebound to help expand their horizons.

The other day, I asked all homeroom teachers from each to mail study materials to each student’s home. Of course, the homeroom teachers and their students haven’t had the chance to meet in person yet, but I think after a little more patience, everyone will be able to smile together. I know all homeroom teachers are looking forward to that moment. When school does start again, let’s work together to regain this time. Until then, let’s all do our utmost to make the most of this time.
