【English version】”The Osaka East Line Will Be Completed Next Spring.”

The other day, from the Kinki general headquarters of JR West, we got the information on the opening of the Osaka East Line in the spring of 2019. The Osaka East Line opened as a new route from Shin-Osaka Station to Kyuhoji Station in 2008, and the line will be extended from Hanaten Station to Shin-Osaka Station.

Although our school is located in a very convenient place; approximately 600m from JR Kawachi Eiwa Station on JR Osaka East Line and about 400m from Kawachi Kosaka Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line, this extension will make it easier for some students who live far from school to commute.

Currently, the time required to cover the distance of 9.2 km from Hanaten Station to Kyuhoji Station is 14 minutes. According to the JR plan, the distance from Shin-Osaka Station to Hanaten Station is 11.1 km. Considering that the distance from Shin-Osaka Station to JR Kawachi Eiwa Station will be 14.4 km, we can conclude that from Shin-Osaka Station by JR. we can arrive at Kawachi Eiwa Station in 20 minutes. What is better, we will not have to transfer.

In addition, the station names of the new 4 stations between Shin Osaka Station and Hanaten Station was formally announced as: Minamisuita Station, JR Awaji Station, Shitokita Konen Station and JR Noe Station. The next stop is Shigi Station, then Hanaten Station. At JR Awaji Station, we can connect with Hankyu’s Kyoto and Senri lines. At JR Noe Station, we can connect to the Keihan main line and the Tanimachi subway line.

With the start of this service, the railway network in the eastern part of Osaka will be significantly improved. Some students, who have to come to school by taking a number of trains, can arrive with fewer or no transfers. In addition, it will be possible to come to Shoin from a wider area. I am planning to use this opportunity to tell the distinctive features and events of our school to more elementary and junior high school students in the area over the coming months.
