Application Requirements

Those with a foreign nationality who meet the following requirements (1) to (3) and have a status of residence that does not hinder university enrolment under the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act (for women).
Those who have obtained or are expected to renew their visa status by April 2025 (girls).

  1. Those who have reached 18 years of age as of 1 April 2025.

  2. Those who fulfill any of the following conditions relating to the course of study, etc.

    1. Those who have completed 12 years of school education in the country concerned or other countries (excluding Japan) (including those expected to complete in March 2025), or those who have been designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as being equivalent to this.

    2. Those who have been recognized as having academic ability equivalent to or higher than a high school graduate by the University's pre-screening for the recognition of application eligibility.

  3. Those who meet any of the following criteria regarding Japanese language proficiency.

    1. Those who have passed N2 or above in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (limited to those conducted in 2023 and 2024) at the time of application.

    2. Those who have scored 220 or more on the EJU (limited to those administered in 2023 and 2024) Japanese Language (Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension and Listening-Reading Comprehension combined).

[Selection method]

Selection is made on the basis of an interview and the results of the applicant's home school.
The interview is conducted by two or three interviewers for each candidate. The interview lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Subject to change depending on the number of applicants on the day.

Please enclose a set of application documents in a commercially available A4-size envelope and send it to the Admissions and PR Department by post (express or registered mail). (Must arrive no later than the last day of application registration)

    Please fill in and submit the personal profile designated by the University,
    covering your career up to the time of application.

  8. ⑧Certificate of (expected) graduation from a Japanese language school
    Prescribed form of Japanese language school.

  9. ⑨Academic transcript from Japanese language school
    Form prescribed by the Japanese language school.

  10. *8. and 9. are for applicants enrolled in a Japanese language school.

International student admissions Scholarship schemes

This is the University's own scholarship system for students who have passed the entrance examination for international students and have completed the enrolment procedures, with scholarships available from the first year of study. We have prepared this system so that students studying in Japan can make use of it as much as possible. Please take advantage of this opportunity after checking the selection criteria and payment method.

*1 The Department of International English requires students to take the Overseas English Seminar (16-week midterm study abroad) in the autumn term of their second year. Tuition and facility fees for the autumn term are not required with the payment of the overseas study abroad fee.

Selection criteria

・Students in 1st year who have been admitted through the International Student Entrance Examination and whose status of residence is ‘College Student.’

・Students in 2nd to 4th year (2nd year and onwards) with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Grant Amount

The amount of the grant is 300,000 yen per year.

Grant Period

The grant will be renewed every year for four years of study.

Grant Time and Procedure

he Scholarship for International Students will be granted in October when autumn tuition fees are paid, offset against tuition fees.
