Staff at the Shoin International Learning Center (SILC) are always available to help international students with any problems or concerns they may have in their daily lives. To ensure that student life goes smoothly, they offer support by assisting with living procedures, visa status, information about scholarships, and more. The centre is also a place where international and Japanese students can meet and interact, and where various language courses and seasonal events are held.
Support for International Students
■Support From The Shoin International Langugae Center (SILC)

Support for international students to feel safe and secure in their university life

■Career Support Center

Support for international students on finding employment after graduation
We carry out guidance and employment surveys to support students in finding work after graduation, so please feel free to consult us about anything. We also actively provide information about employment events from outside Osaka Shoin Women's University aimed at international students, employment preparation courses (how to write a CV, how to get an interview, etc.), and company tours and internships.
■International Exchange

Interact with foreigners and experience foreign cultures.
Every year, we have Halloween parties and Christmas parties with interantional students, as well as camps and guided tours of Japan during the summer and spring holidays. We also organise activities to learn about English for children. Many of our students are aspiring to become Japanese language teachers, so they can give you support when you have trouble with Japanese. If you are an international student, please try getting in touch!
■Pre-Study Before You Begin

Free support from the moment you decide to take the exam
A wide range of support is available to you from the moment you decide to apply to the university, such as help with studying for the entrance exam, and with studying Japanese and English. Students aiming to pass the entrance exam can take a weekly preparation course, and students can also participate in Japanese and English language courses prior to enrolment, to prepare for a smooth transition to university classes.
■Japanese and English Study

Study support from enrolled staff
SILC staff and university students support international students in learning Japanese and English. University students who aim to become Japanese language teachers teach Japanese on a one-to-one basis, and foreign staff teach English. International students who are worried about their Japanese or want to improve their English can use their free time in class or after school to improve their language skills at SILC.
■International Student Buddies

Support from Japanese students as buddies
The University has introduced a buddy system. A Japanese student will act as your buddy and provide you with support. You can reach out to them any time you have problems in class or at the university, difficulties with life in Japan, or if you just need advice. Why not plan events around shared hobbies and make lots of memories with your buddy?
