12月16日（金）14時45分から放送の、関西テレビ「2時45分からはスローでイージーなルーティンで」という番組で、「第50回バトントワーリング全国大会」の様子が取り上げられ、樟蔭高校バトン部がかなり詳しく紹介されました。
この大会は国内のバトントワーリングの最大の大会で、樟蔭高校バトン部は昨年に続いて2連覇となりました（一昨年はコロナ禍のため映像参加）。実は、中学バトン部も優勝しており、中高ポンポンチア部と合わせて2年間完全制覇を果たしています。これで、中高バトン部・中高ポンポンチア部は実質3年間負けなしの状態が続いています。
また、12月21日（水）8時から放送の、日本テレビ「スッキリ！」の「ひとつになろう！ダンスONEプロジェクト‘22―全国高校生ダンス部応援企画―」という番組で、樟蔭高校ダンス部がかなり長い時間に亘って紹介されました。
この企画は、コロナ禍で発表場所が失われているダンス部の演技を動画で配信し、視聴者に見てもらおうというもので、今年で３年目になります。今年のテーマ曲はNovelbrightの『開幕宣言』で、全国から294チームの応募の中から樟蔭高校ダンス部の学園内の様々な場所で踊る動画が紹介されました。
いずれの放送も、大変元気溢れる本校生の生き生きとした様子がよく伝わって来ました。まさに身体表現系クラブの日頃からの練習の厚みが感じられる堂々たる演技でした。今年は、8月にも中学校バスケットボール部が「第52回全国中学校バスケットボール大会」で準優勝するなど、樟蔭生の底力が発揮された一年でした。
樟蔭生が力を発揮したのはスポーツだけではありません。ある樟蔭高校3年生は活動している劇団「そとばこまち」の座長として、12月9日（金）から3日間、見事に公演をやり遂げました。この生徒は体操部にも所属し、勉強にも熱心に取り組むという頑張り屋さんです。素晴らしい努力を続けています。
樟蔭中高にはこれ以外にも、様々な分野に取り組んでいる生徒がたくさんいます。生徒アンケートによると8割以上、中学生に至っては9割以上の生徒が「何か打ち込むことがある」と答えています。このことはいつまでも大切にして欲しいと願っています。

On Friday December 16th from 14:45, the Kansai Television program “From 2:45 on a Slow and Easy Routine” aired and included a feature about the “50th National Baton Twirling Tournament”. During this program, a detailed introduction to Shoin High School’s baton twirling club was presented to the audience.

This tournament is the largest baton twirling tournament in Japan, and this year Shoin’s high school baton twirling club won the championship for the second consecutive year. The year before last, participation was via video presentation due to the onset of COVID-19. In fact, the junior high school baton twirling club also won their championship, and together with the junior and high school pompom cheer clubs, Shoin has completely dominated this championship for two years running. With these successes, the junior and high school baton twirling, and pompom cheer clubs have not been defeated in three years.

In addition, on Wednesday December 21st from 8:00, the Shoin High School dance club had a lengthy feature on the program “Let’s Become One! Dance ONE Project ’22 – The National High School Dance Club Support Project”.

This is the third year of this project which aims to showcase the performances of dance clubs that have been unable to perform live due restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s theme song was Novelbright’s “Opening Declaration”, and 294 teams from all over the country submitted their dance team video presentations. Shoin High School’s dance club’s submission presented the club members dancing in various locations across the school’s campus.

Both previously mentioned television features clearly conveyed the lively and energetic nature of our students. They were dignified performances where one could feel the depth and commitment to daily practice at these physical expression clubs. In addition, this August, the junior high school basketball club placed second in the 52nd All Japan Junior High School Basketball Tournament. 2022 was a year in which the underlying strengths of Shoin were demonstrated.

Shoin’s strengths, however, are not limited to only sports. One third-grade student at Shoin High School performed brilliantly over a three-day period from Friday December 9th in her role as the leader in the theater company “Sotoba Komachi”. This student is a hard-working member of the gymnastics club who also puts a lot of effort into her studies. Keep up the great work!

At Shoin Junior and Senior High School, there are countless other students who are working on various projects and have interests in a variety of fields. According to a student questionnaire conducted school-wide, more than 80% of high school students, and even more than 90% of junior high school students, replied that they “have something that they put their heart into”. I hope our students will cherish this ideal forever.
