2024年最後の日となりました。樟中学校・高等学校の生徒たちは、今年も学習や行事、部活動で大きな成果を上げてくれました。今回は、その中でも探究活動の成果、研究発表についてご紹介させていただきます。

国際教養コースの高校生たちは、リクルートによる“高校生ＲＩＮＧ”に参加しました。これは、今話題のアントレプレナーシップ（起業家精神）を身に着けるためのプログラムで、生徒たちの身近な視点からビジネスを考えるというものです。アルバイトもしたことのない生徒たちにとって、ビジネスを考えるというのは全く初めての体験で、最初はかなり戸惑ったようでしたが、次のようなテーマで一生懸命研究し、発表が行われました。

看護系進学コースの高校生たちは、それぞれ医療関係についての研究をしてくれました。

フードスタディコースでは、それぞれの興味・関心による発表をしてくれました。

　総合進学コースの高3生も、2年からの探究学習の成果として発表をしてくれました。

・保育士不足の原因や解決法について　・筋肉がつく食事　・日本の給料について　

紙面の関係で内容を紹介できないのが残念ですが、生徒たちの感想（抜粋）を紹介します。

・2年間My timeに取り組んで、最初どんなテーマでもいいと言われて「何でもいいって何をすればいいのか」と思って悩みましたが何とかやりたいテーマを見つけて取り組みました。スライドを作って発表するということをあまりやったことがなかったので、この先こういう機会は少しずつ増えていくと思うのでこの機会に経験出来て良かったなと思いました。

・高2でも高3でも調べていく事で知らなかった事をたくさん知ることが出来たので、よかったなと思いました。（中略）自分の発表だけじゃなく、他の子たちの発表を聞いていると、面白そうな発表だなと思ったり、印象に残る発表だったりと、聞いていて新しい事が発見出来たりして、すごく楽しく感じました。将来的に役に立ったりするかもしれないので、この授業を受けてよかったと思いました。

・My timeに取り組み、自分が調べたいものを見つけるために様々なことに目を向けることができました。気になっていることなどを調べて追求していけてとても楽しかったです。スライド作成や自分が伝えたいことを、スライドを見た人たちに伝わるように工夫することなど、この2年間を通して学ぶことができてよかったです。大学でもこのMy timeの経験を活かしていけたらいいなと思います。

Principal’s blog – December 31^st 2024　　「Results of our research」

We have reached the end of 2024 and the students of Shoin have produced some wonderful results over the year in their studies, school events and club activities. Among those results, I’d like to mention the results of the “Tankyu” and research classes.

The students of the international course in Shoin high school took part in the High School RING event hosted by the Recruit company. The theme of the event was “entrepreneurship” whereby students thought of a business opportunity by taking into account the various problems around them. For students who have never worked a part-time job, thinking of business plans was a challenging task and at first, they seemed perplexed by the task. Nevertheless, after a lot of hard work they managed to produce the following ideas:

・Reducing food loss.   ・ Smart Dining Room   ・Private Theatre   ・ Good job!

・1-day Delivery   ・Home Tutor Mediation   ・Handy Taxi

The Nursing course students produced the following ideas:

・About cancer   ・About diabetes   ・OCD   ・Medical Care in a Disaster

The Food study course students displayed their individual interests with the following ideas:

・Parts of beef   ・Restaurant price setting   ・Local production for local consumption

・Organic farming   ・Food presentation   ・Food allergies   ・Food packaging

The Comprehensive course students from the second and third grades produced these ideas:

・Relationship between music and psychology   ・The charms of Yawata city

・Is make-up necessary in society?   ・Lack of child care staff and the solution

・Muscle-building food   ・Salaries in Japan

Unfortunately, there isn’t enough space on the page to explain the contents of these ideas, but I’ll give a brief account of the students’ impressions and reactions to the class.

・”Students in the second grade were told we could research any theme we liked in the “My Time” classes held each week. At first, we were confused about what to research, but we finally managed to decide on a theme to investigate. Many of us had never given presentations using slides, so we thought this was a good opportunity to prepare us for future presentations.”

・”Through our research, we all learned a lot of new things, not only from our work, but also from listening to the presentations of the other students, we were inspired, educated and entertained. Most of us are happy we took the classes and we think it will prove useful in the future.”

・”During the “My Time” classes, we were encouraged to look into many different things as part of our research, but it was very enjoyable to delve deep into the subjects. It was good to learn a lot over these two years, including how to create slides and convey our thoughts to others through the slides and presentations. I hope we can make use of this experience in our university lives.”
