It’s time for Shoin’s annual speech and recitation contest!

In recent years, the contest has been held in November, however, this year it will take place at the beginning of February, 2023.

There are actually two contests in the same event. The first is a recitation contest for GS  junior high school students and GS high school first graders. All of the contestants will recite the same passage and three students will be chosen for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes.

In addition, there will also a speech contest. There is no set topic for this contest and students can prepare a speech about any topic they like. Previous speeches have included topics such as Blood Donation, Rakugo, Ballet, My Homestay Visit, and many many more. Again, the best three speeches will be chosen for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes.
