7月17日、樟蔭高等学校第一回目の学校説明会を開催いたしましたところ、多数の中学生、保護者の皆様にご参加いただきました。

ご参加いただきました皆様、ありがとうございました。

学校説明会では、「建学の精神」、「各コースの授業内容・様子」、「部活動・学校行事」、「施設・設備」などについて、本校生徒有志により説明させていただきました。また「入試制度」については担当者よりご説明いたしました。学校説明会後にアンケートをさせていただきました。

以下、ご参考に掲載いたします

その他「今回の説明会出席のきっかけとなったのはなんですか？」の問いについて

学校HPが５１％、各中学校に配布した本校のリーフレットが３６％、塾の先生の勧めが２５％、知人の紹介が２０％ほどでした。学校の教育内容や口コミにより来ていただいたようでした。

なお、説明会冒頭の校長挨拶の中で、学校選択の際の「学校見学のポイント」としてお伝えしたことがありますので、併せてここにあげさせていただきます。

一つ目は、「廊下などに掲示されている『目標』や『掲示』をご覧ください」です。

例えば、「廊下を走らない」と掲示があるということは、走る人がいるということ、「あいさつをしよう」という目標があるのは、挨拶をしない人がいるということかもしれません。メッセージには意味があるということです。

二つ目は、「生徒たちに色々なことを質問してください」です。

説明会の準備として生徒たちも説明の練習等はしていますが、直接に色々なことを聞いていただくことで生徒たちの本音が見えてくると思います。また、コミュニケーション力や人に対する配慮などにも気づいていただけると思います。

最後は、「個別相談を活用してください。」です。

説明会後に設定している個別相談では、個々の状況に合わせたより詳細な説明も可能です。本校は「個」を大切にした教育を行っていますので様々な取組みがあります。全体会の限られた時間では十分にお伝え出来ないこともあります。ぜひ、個別相談にお越しいただき、色々な情報を得ていただければと思います。

本校では今後も、オープンスクールや説明会、入試対策講座などを開催してまいります。次回は８月１９日に“中高合同のオープンスクール”を開催します。様々なイベントがあり、楽しんでいただけると思います。本校HPをご覧いただき、ぜひご参加ください。お待ちしています。

7/17 School Tour – Main Points

On July 17th, the first Shoin High School information briefing session for the year took place and was attended by many junior high school students along with their parents.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who participated.
At this session, student volunteers from Shoin gave detailed explanations about the spirit of our school, lesson and course contents, club activities and school events, and our school’s facilities and equipment. In addition, the Entrance Examination Department spoke at length about the entrance test and enrollment system at Shoin.
At the conclusion of the session, we asked those in attendance to complete a questionnaire. Below is a summary of the results as well as comments written by participants.

“The student explanations were polite and easy to understand.”

“There are a good number of affiliate universities connected to Shoin.”

In addition, participants were asked what motivated them to attend this information briefing session? Below are the results.
51% came after viewing the school website,
36% were motivated by the school leaflet distributed to junior high schools throughout Osaka,
25% from cram-school teacher recommendations,
20% from acquaintances, current students and parents, or word of mouth.

During the principal’s greeting at the beginning of the briefing session, I talked about the most important points to consider when choosing a school. I would like to present them again here.

First, I suggested they look at the reminders and signs posted in the corridors. For example, a reminder saying, “Don’t run in the hallway!” may mean that there are students running around, and a sign saying, “Let’s say hello.” may mean that there are students who don’t say hello. These messages have a meaning.
The second point was to speak with the students and ask them questions directly. In preparation for today’s session, the students of course practiced their explanations and speeches. However, I think we can see what Shoin students really think by listening to them in person. I also think that you will appreciate their communication skills and consideration for people in general.

The last is to please take advantage of the individual consultation service on offer. In the individual consultation sessions scheduled to take place after the briefing sessions, more detailed explanations tailored to specific student needs are available. Our school provides education and related services that cater to the individual, thus there are a range of initiatives to explore in this regard. There may also be instances when there isn’t enough time during a plenary session to gather all the details you need. Again, in this case, please feel free to contact the school to organize a personal consultation if you require more specific information.

Shoin is preparing to hold more open school events, information briefing sessions, and entrance exam preparation courses in the coming months. The next, on August 19th, will be a joint junior and senior high school open school. Please visit the Shoin website for further dates and details on these events.
